We believe that every wine should tell a story—the story of its variety, production, aging, winemaking, the rains, the sun, and the land. The blessed and renowned land of Zitsa, Ioannina, gifts us with some of the finest Greek wines. This is why we have chosen to follow the less-traveled path, one that honors tradition while embracing a harmonious collaboration with modern technology.
Description
Deep purple.
Aromas of red and black fruits, such as blackberry, black cherry, and plum, dominate. Notes of freshly cut mushroom and spicy pepper add complexity to the bouquet.
Robust tannins and refreshing acidity indicate a wine with great aging potential. Abundant dark fruits and bold spicy notes create an explosive array of flavors on the palate.
The local red varieties, Vlachiko & Bekari, are destemmed and vinified in oak vats. A classic red maceration process of 12 days follows. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for two years, developing depth and complexity.
Best served at 16° - 18°C (room temperature).
